Let me start with a quote, which also happens to be my WhatsApp status…
When something bad happens, you have three choices: You can either let it define you, let it destroy you or let it strengthen you.
After gathering my learning and strength from first failed attempt, I decided to try again with full energy and 100% commitment. Of course there was issues. My cooler conked off twice in a week. The roof of thaw room leaked when it rained. There was no water for two days in a row. And the list is endless. But I refused to give up. And as Mr Coelho says…
When you want something, all the universe conspires in helping you to achieve it.
The pinheads started to appear
They tell you in the class that when you put bags for spawn run, leave them for 15 days. Of course I didn’t follow that advice. I looked at them every single day, multiple times a day, observed what changed in each bag, to check if there was any contamination. And yes, there was contamination which came in a few bags. With a heavy heart, I removed them and continued working on adding new bags each day, also trying to understand why contamination happened. I am sure my faculty at DMR and Mr tyagi at NHRDF are sufficiently irritated by my calls and messages already as I kept seeking their advice on contamination.
And then, finally they appeared…those beautiful pinheads. I can’t explain the feeling I got when I looked at them that morning, I opened my farm. It was like when you see your kid talking for the first time or walking for the first time. Thrilling to the core!
The journey has still been a difficult one. Not a day goes by when there are not enough or more challenges to stop me. But there’s something in this universe that keeps pushing me to challenge my own limits. To go beyond what is comfortable and easy. To work harder, each day, everyday.
